You would be surprised with how often, we hear people find wrapping boxes difficult. The feeling of being not quite satisfied with how their present looks. That’s why, our first priority for this week was to break it down for you and get back to the basics. So, we asked our friends over at gifts.com, to share a tutorial that’ll make it easy for everybody. Take it away guys!
We spend so much time agonizing over the perfect thoughtful gift for our friends and family members. When we finally find something we know they’ll love it may be hard not to give it to them right away, but don’t forget to spend the extra time on presentation! Gift box wrapping can be just as creative (and meaningful) as the gift itself.
Before you start decorating the outside of your gift, you have to wrap it. You can wrap a gift in as little as five steps. Gifts.com shows you how!
Step 1: Measure how much wrapping paper you need. You can do this by rolling the item over to assure that you have enough to cover each side. When in doubt, cut a little extra.
Step 2: Place the present in the middle of the wrapping paper. Fold the right side in. Then, fold the left side in and tape.
Step 3: Now it’s time to fold the top and bottom inwards. To do this, fold the left and right sides of the paper in, creating two triangles with the top and bottom paper. Then, fold the bottom triangle up and the top triangle down. Secure with tape.
Step 4: Repeat step 3 on the opposite side of the gift.
Step 5: Decorate!
It’s easy to just pick up generic wrapping paper and stick a bow on your gift box, but it’s not much harder to personalize the wrapping to make the recipient feel like extra special. A good rule of thumb when decorating your gift is to start with the basics (like kraft paper or black wrapping paper) and then accessorize accordingly.
For example, you could decorate the gift box with your favorite photo of the two of you or an inspirational quote. If you’re gifting to a kid, turn the box into a cute animal with a fun joke or note. Check out the 9 gift box wrapping ideas below for more inspiration!
