Now, on reading the title, it may seem like we’re a bit odd. Packing gifts in newspaper directly, doesn’t seem all that special (It is actually! You can wonderful things with it, but we’ll get to that later). But, here, what we mean is making your own wrapping paper using newspapers to add patterns!
Time to make paper: 5 minutes
- White sheet of paper
- Paints and paintbrush
1. Once you’ve got all that is needed, tear the newspaper into small scraps and crumple it up. Make sure to make multiple lumps.
2. Next, you need to daub a lump in the paint and start daubing it on the sheet of paper. Move quickly, as the paint dries up fast and change the newspapers often, as they get damp pretty fast.
3. Don’t be afraid to overlap the paints, the overall impact will be nice. I wanted to create a kind of ombre effect. Let the paint dry & the wrapping paper is ready. Quick, easy & not so bad on the eyes either.
Since the paper is like chart paper, it becomes quite convenient to stick and pack gifts with. So, try it out the next time wrapping paper isn’t available! We also made wrapping paper with some household items, click here to see the tutorial.
