This week, I am feeling particularly, thrifty. I know, it’s the beginning of the month and it’s weird. But, there’s no denying it – I can be a bit of a cheapskate. Not that I consider that a bad thing. Some of the best ideas come from saving money. And some, of the best crafts too. I’m sure, you have pinned ideas or noted hacks down, just because they’re inexpensive & amazing. I’ve been on that boat for a long time and can probably do a whole series of posts on thrifty crafts. But, for now, lets talk about 7 DIY projects that can be made easily, without emptying your wallet.
First, I want to share these Thrifty DIY Painted Wooden Bowls by Design Improvised. I think, the design looks absolutely amazing. It’s a great example on how simple patterns work best.
Paper & Stitch shared this amazing technique on how to breath life into old linen napkins. Making them look newly bought, in no time!
Speaking of napkins, we made napkin rings this week. With confetti!
You should also check out Ink Struck’s tutorial on DIY Black & Gold Coasters, where they’ve used an easy hack, to get this amazing pattern. Very interesting method, and I can’t wait to try it.
Poppytalk came up with these amazing watercolour effect mugs, using nail polishes. I have actually tried this for a gift, and it turns out, phenomenal.
Next up on upcycling, without spending too much are these raffia baskets, which make any old basket look loads better!
And last, and definitely expensive looking (but not really pricey) is this Tassel Basket by Honestly WTF. I just discovered this blog, and their work is incredible. Take some time out and check out their tutorials. They have very cool ideas, like this one.
Have a crafty week ahead 🙂 And don’t forget to send me diy projects that inspire you!
