Happy Wednesday! This week, I was very interested in looking up techniques. By this, I don’t necessarily mean complex activities like, Batik. But, crafts using masking and origami and ice painting and more. Which are often overlooked. And that’s weird, because they’re some of the best projects to make. It’s what lead me on a Pinterest hunt for technique based ideas & I’m quite excited about sharing some of them today. Let’s get to it!
First, I want to talk about Ice painting by Aunt Peaches. This is such an innovative technique & the tutorial looks like so much fun! I can’t wait to try this.
Another brilliant idea for parties, is making these Giant Crepe Paper Roses, designed by Studio DIY. Can you imagine having these for decor or for a photo booth. I can, and would love to have them. They’re also a fab idea for decor. Especially, for people like me who can’t keep plants alive.
These Hand painted Popsicle Canvas Shoes by Dream Green DIY, are on my list of favourite DIYs for the summer. Too adorable for words.
Speaking of fun techniques, you should also see these Printed Party Favour Bags by Paper & Stitch. They used balloons & natural light to create this beautiful pattern on the paper. Stunning, right?
Also a favourite this week, was the DIY Gemstone Picture Frame The Crafted Life made with Poppytalk. It’s so simple & pretty. I love it!
Masking is a method of using tape to cover specific portions of an object, while painting. It’s used very often to make straight lines. And that’s what we did with these Geometric Cup Covers.
Last, I want to share Sarah Hearts cute design for Glitter Heart Totes. My cousins have already shortlisted this idea for the next free weekend. As the younger one said, “It’s something you just need, Didi”
Bonus technique: We also experimented with nail polish remover & sharpies to make these candy boxes. Like them?
How do you like this weeks roundup? 🙂 I’m going to try & share as many techniques as possible, here. So, if you like such DIYs, keep an eye out for this page!
