The day has finally arrived! Ever since we posted our first housie story, we’ve been getting weekly requests for customised stories, variations and themes for Housie games. Unfortunately, as much as we would have loved to share bespoke versions of Tambola. We simply did not have the infrastructure to make it happen. Until now!! Over the past few weeks, we have been experimenting with a couple of orders. And now we can finally answer your requests and make customised versions on an order basis. Just like this very special Musical Housie Game. Read on to find out more.
Let’s take it one question at a time, shall we 🙂
1. What do you mean by customised Housies?
Housie is one of the most popular party games, till date. Much like it’s counterpart, Bingo, it is a luck based game with 90 (or 100) numbers which are spread across sheets. However, there is a world of possibilities with the game. Ways in which you can make it different. Some of the versions we have made are,
- Housie Stories
- Rule changes
- Themed cards
So, the best way to go about it is to let us know your concept or occasion and we can help plan the version that will work best.
2. Is this a paid service?
I’m sure you saw this coming. And yes, this is a paid order option. However, the rates are dependant on the number of cards you need, the kind of game, the printing costs etc. Which leaves a lot of room for your budget.
3. How do we place an order?
It’s as simple as 1,2,3. The button given below will take you to our orders form. Where you can tell us about your concept and we will be in touch within 24 hours. Or, you can leave us a message in the comments section. Just make sure to send us your name and email ID/phone number. Easy peasy!
4. What’s this Musical Housie Game?
I’m glad you asked! This Housie was custom made for a pre-wedding party. The idea was to have a normal format of a Housie, but with songs instead of numbers.
For this game we made,
- A master list of 40 songs
- 60 cards with 9 songs each. The songs were a mix of the 40 songs on the master list.
- A pen drive with the first 30 seconds (or 1 minute) of each of the 40 songs.
The way this works is, the cards are handed out to the guests. Once ready, the host explains the rules and prizes. After which he/she plays a song from the master list. The song is played up till the first 2 lines. This is important as you don’t want the game to go on endlessly.
To make things easier for guests who are unfamiliar with the songs, only the first line of the song is written on the cards. So, they can cancel it out based on the line they hear. You don’t need to know all the lyrics to all the songs.
The game progresses as usual with songs being played one after and another and prizes being claimed. To add a fun element to the game, we incorporated the bride and grooms favourite songs, special memories and called on the audience to participate at regular elements.
5. How do we customise Musical Housies?
There are a tonne of ways in which we can change it up. For example, we once made a Musical House for Holi made entirely of Holi songs. You can also make it around your favourite songs, a theme, a specific artist, a genre etc. In fact, we’re planning a Disney songs version right now. So, your best bet is to let us know what you would like and we will do our best to make it happen.
Phew! I’m so glad we have a system for these now. What do you think of a Musical Housie Game? Is it something you would enjoy playing? Let us know, we would love to know what you think.
