Happy Friday Crafters! Looking forward to the weekend? I am! After a week of working hard, there’s nothing better than kicking back and relaxing over the weekend. And, I fully intend on spending all of Saturday vegetating on my couch. However, Sunday is a different story. Sundays are for spending quality time with my family. Unsurprisingly, my family’s version of quality time includes making or discussing crafts. The way it works is, we collect all the ideas we love over the week on Pinterest. Then, we pick what we like best and make that DIY craft on Sunday. Here, are some of the ideas that are on my list, for this week!
This lampshade was love at first sight for me! Monsters Circus shared a video on how to make a botanical lampshade and its beautiful. I like that the design isn’t over complicated and the complements the shape of the lampshade perfectly. Here’s the link for the tutorial.
I may be a little late for this DIY. But, I came across these pumpkin centrepieces made by Home Made By Carmona and have to share them. They have a finish, which is quite rare for pumpkin carving and don’t take that much time to make. How is that possible? You should see for yourself, by checking out the tutorial, here.
Jojotastic’s concept for this DIY craft is amazing! The idea is to make smudge sticks that will improve not only the scent of your homes, but also help imbue positive energy. The execution isn’t very difficult and I can’t wait to try this idea. The full tutorial with all the scents, is available here.
Talk about a multipurpose design! Stylebee’s desk organiser can literally be used in hundreds of ways. I think, it’s a great project to start with if you’re a beginner with woodwork (like me). Their detailed tutorial walks you through the steps effortlessly. You can follow the steps here to make it.
This DIY craft has always been a favourite of mine. There are two reasons why. One, it’s a pillow that doesn’t involve any sewing. Second, I can spray them with any scent and thus, add a nice aroma to any space. Here are the details on how to make them.
Did you like painting by numbers, as a child? It was one of my favourite past times. So, when I saw this paint by numbers pillow tutorial, I was very very excited. And, that excitement just grew when I saw that Shrimp Salad Circus has actually provided everything you could possibly need for the tutorial. You should head over to the tutorial asap, through this link.
I adore The Lovely Drawer and their content. At the moment, they are collaborating with Sugar & Cloth (one of the first blogs I started following religiously) and the DIY goodness being shared, makes me so happy! However this week, I want to work on the kitchen storage idea, they shared a while ago. It’s a beautiful design! You can see the full tutorial here.
If you’ve just started out on your own or thinking of doing it, I would really recommend reading this article, also by The Lovely Drawer. It’s a very real perspective on the highs and the lows of freelancing. Very encouraging and reassuring!
What are you planning to do over the weekend? Let me know through any of the links below or through the comments!
