As important as studying is, sometimes it is incredibly difficult to get through the pages and pages of information that need to be learnt. We gave our finals recently, and to say it was tough (aka torturous) to get through the syllabus, is an understatement. And so, in a moment of day dreaming, this idea came into being.
The idea is based on the fact, that we invariably eat when we study. Everyone has their own choice – energy drinks, candy, biscuits, chips etc. So, why not make this into an incentive to study?
Basically, what you need to do is, put these handmade markers at different intervals of your book. Every time you reach an interval, you get rewarded with a cookie or candy or whatever you enjoy. This will encourage you to keep on studying till you reach each interval. Here’s how we made them:
PS: We would advise setting realistic intervals, we do not want cavities as a result of exams.
Time taken: Each marker takes about 5-7 minutes
Budget: Low
Materials:
- Thick paper
- Crayons/Color Pencils/ Sketch Pens
- Tape
- Paper clips
- Scissors
- Black Pen
- Pencil
Steps:
We used chocolate chip cookies (all time fav) when we studied. So, just for convenience, we’re going to say cookies in the tutorial instead of food item. Cool?
- Draw out and color the cookie.
- Cut out the cookie.
- Paste a paper clip to the back.
- Repeat these steps a few times to make a few more.
So, all of the designs we made included:
Tips:
- Keep it simple. Its meant to encourage studying, not use up all your time planning.
- Choose something you really like. This isn’t the time to try, complicated smoothies or salads.
Which marker is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below. We personally, think the lollipops look the most. Also, if you do make them, we would love to see them. Just hashtag them #thecraftablesproject on any of your social media.
